Peony and Tulips....
The flowers are getting a gentle rain this morning. It makes the soil and sub soil happier as our drought is less these days.

Iowa wild rose is the state flower. I keep finding evidence of our hard freeze on different plants as they mature. The freeze messed up...

Hi Larry, Beautiful Lilies! I have given up photographing in the afternoon on sunny days. Unless it is a one in a million great shot. I try to get out in the morning or late afternoon or evening.. the light is much better then.. reds and dark purples are so hard to photograph anyway.. Light can be your best friend or you worst enemy..I really like overcast days, or clouds that go in and out and change the light..it is all experimentation. I take lots of shots and weed out the worst ones..I love digital..no waiting to see the photo! Happy 4th! :)

I'm lovin' the lilies! I have a lot of them too...but the only ones here up north that have bloomed thus far are the lemon lilies. I am waiting for my hybrid ones to blossom.
