Saturday's Sprinkles and Rain

 The migration of monarchs is in progress. We don't have a large number of them like some parts of the state have but I did have a minimal few number of them in the garden this morning. The were really hungry and took long times of feeding at the flowers.

 There was also a beat up swallowtail at the sedum this morning. I am not sure how they get broken parts of their wings, I also had a monarch the was beat up like this. 

 

 

I haven't seen any thing eat at the honeysuckles. It wold have to be a long beak of a hummingbird that could even attempt it. This is the third session of this shrub blooming.

 I finished mowing my front yard this morning. I didn't think I was going to be able to do it as it keeps raining.  I was out late morning and the wind was blowing the grass dry. I got out the mower and did the job.  We had thunder this afternoon but not a sprinkle. It looks like we will see more rain tonight. We have such heavy humidity right now as it is sticky air when one is out there. Everyone in the college sports area got their games played and the high school's also got their games played last night. We seem to be just dodging it though as our deck was wet this morning when we got up from a short rainfall. My cousin had a farm auction this morning and they did dodge rain and it stated up after they were done with the sale.

 Our wonderful border collie, Barney, has been gone sine 2019. He was a loyal, loving buddy who was always around with his people. In the mornings while we had coffee he would lay in the sun to warm up. I love seeing the reflection of his face in the fireplace glass.

Warm Color

 The late blooming phlox blends in with the two zinnias. Our hot temps  are causing problems for al the plants in the garden. The zinnia isn't bothered too much and yet I guess I do have a lot of faded blooms. The phlox is all gone except for the few sprouts that seem to blooming off season. 

Morning View

 The view of spotty clouds gave us some great colors off of the glow of the sun. The sun is not actually in full view but the glow was so great that the camera picked up the form.

 There is not a way one can plan a shot of a hummingbird. I just point and shoot randomly and see what I can get. I would point at a bird sitting on the stand drinking and as I click it the bird flies off. It is just accidental photography that allows one to get three or four good shots from a pile of thirty four.

 Sometimes the view really is all about the clouds. The sun is important but clouds take the show. We are going to heat up today and we started off hot before the sun rose.
