Waiting to bloom, then kapow.....

I bought this daylily from an arboretum north of here 10 miles away. It is one of many that I have but this is the largest and most showy of all of them. It is not the first one to bloom but it was a close second.
As a photographer, I took this photo in the bright sun yesterday. The one above I took at dusk, 8:45 in the evening. I guess I can get better color in low light than bright sunlight.

I could not see my white lilies before leaving home to USA. Yours are very beautiful.

Visiting Grackle

The reflective feathers of the grackle on its neck are usually blue. Sometimes it can seem to be greenish.
