As the freezing and the rain continues, the field lilies start to decompose and wilt back into the ground. It always amazes me how quickly a large area of vegetation can decline in size so quickly.

I was noticing the same thing about our lilies and our ferns. I imagine you are covered in snow most of the winter but here in GA, our landscape looks very drab and sad during winter.
