A Farmer's Insulator.........
The white insulator attached to the pole is ceramic and usually is used to support wires for an electric fence. A frequent jolt of charge would scare the animal back and they would respect the wire even when it wasn't actually working. It was a quick solution for my dad to install an electric wire for a fence that was being ineffective to keep the cattle from getting into the corn field.
