Iowa Wild Rose.........

Iowa wild rose is the state flower.  I keep finding evidence of our hard freeze on different plants as they mature.  The freeze messed up the coloration of these roses.

There are red splotches on the petals of the flowers.  Some are worse than others.  The wild rose spreads by it's roots and I have to mow the yard to keep all the sprouts at bay.  If I were to never mow the back yard, a third of my yard would consist of wild roses.
