Solar Orb........
As I was replacing the corn cob at the squirrel feeder with a new ear of corn I looked up to see the effects of the sun on the silver maple tree. The sun actually melted some snow off of sidewalks and cars even when it was only 14 degrees F. The old tree has seen many a winter and summer.

What a great photo, Larry. Thank you for your comment on my blog - and ,by the way, your tree reminds me so much of one in the same park that has become permanent residence to a Tawny Owl. Sadly the owl wasn't 'at home' when we were there with our cameras ... but I shall return!
