The bumble bee's are still eating. I don't know where they go all winter but this guy is still trying to get as much together as he can. I took this a couple of days ago when we were still seeing the sun shine. There was a frost this morning so I wonder what will happen next for them.

I too wonder what will happen to these bees when all flowers fall to winter? Hope the nature would have another way for them to survive. Nice capture with light
I was always interested to know about bees and a young relative of mine sent me the following.
"The bees continue to work, but mostly inside the hive. They have made enough extra honey to keep them alive for the winter. In the late fall they take the drones( male bees) outside and dump them to die. They will not feed extra mouths. As it gets colder they pretty much stay in the middle of the hive surrounding the queen. They make their own heat. Their major purpose in winter is to take care of the queen"
I kept the piece because the Women's Institute (UK) are into saving our bees.
