Have a view of my daily photos or photos from my past. We all need to document the world around us visually. What I see is mostly what you get.

Train Wreck.......
When I was a teenager, my family and I were visiting my sister in laws parents on their farm for a Sunday dinner. Near the farm was a small town built on a hill called Woodburn, Iowa. At the bottom of the hill of the town was a double train track that went through town. After the meal, word was received that there had been a train accident in the town. It probably was five miles away and we all went over to see it. The track curved through the town and 6 or more cars jumped the track.
They were all jumbled on top of each other like a kid that had tossed his building blocks into a pile. The cars were all the same kind of wooden boxcar that looked like the red one here. Those cars are very large in real life, so to see them overturned like that made it an incredible sight. Dirt was shifted by the weight of them and I am assuming they were loaded with cargo. I think of that wreck every time I put these train pieces away in a box. I just had to recreate a wreck just for the camera.

Time's a Passing....
The early morning was full of color as the sune was yet to be above the horizon. It has been cold and the sky adds to the feeling of winter...

Teddy's legs are a little short for this big wheel but he still likes sitting on it. These shots were buried in my files and this one...

Iowa wild rose is the state flower. I keep finding evidence of our hard freeze on different plants as they mature. The freeze messed up...

Don't think i've ever seen a real train wreck.
Looks very similar to my boyhood Lionel 027 gauge train...:)
They are huge in real life! We have a photo of our boys walking between them when they were hunger and they tower above them like skyscrapers.
