River Birch......
I don't know for sure how it got its name but I don't have any river near this tree. It has seemed to grow strong and straight and is getting old. I bought one for my neighbor at the same time and her tree is wimpy compared to mine.

It is a great shot. I am always fascinated by peeling bark... don't ask me why!
