Iowa wild rose is the state flower. I keep finding evidence of our hard freeze on different plants as they mature. The freeze messed up...

I have always loved your fern leaf peony; glad you brought it to the new house.
So thankful that you have been able to move to the new house and still have the time/freedom to bring beloved plants from the old house. We've had a few moves where that was not possible due to contracts and it's sad to leave behind plants.
What a lovely plant. I'd not heard of a Fern Leaved Peony before, but it is beautiful! Peonies are one of my most favorite flowers. I remember when we visited Monticello that there were bouquets of peonies in several of the rooms. They have such a lovely fragrance.

I can just imagine a pioneer bringing the peony from the east to their new homestead. Wonder if it was originally in Indiana. Peony is our state flower!
