Poinsettia....


The flower is actually just leaves that have turned red. They are a favorite for Christmas time as the red and green do give us the traditional colors of the season. I am having a difficult keeping this from loosing its leaves.  It is a different house and the heating system here is really more friendly to plants than the old house was. I hope to keep it going at least through New Years.

I love the see the poinsettias decorating the church this time of year.

It is beautiful! The stores now have a lot that are covered with glitter, some are turquoise and such. Bah, Humbug! They do not look REAL like yours. I bought a fake one, because poinsettias are poisonous to cats. But it does not have sparkles and it looks real.
