The colors of a female goldfinch are really wonderful. The colors of the back feathers stays a natural brown and blends well with those striking black and white lines. I have shown a lot of photos of birds but the pose of the bird makes the photo a higher quality photo if it is a good position. I am sure National Geographic would crop out a lot of this photo but I like the loose string sticking out the sock feeder.
