The gentle snow of the day will accumulate a few inches of snow. The birds were already upset that it had started to snow and were rushing to get to the feeders. At the time that I took this shot of the junco, the snow was in large globs. It has quit doing that and now is just heavy normal-sized flakes. I keep calling it a quiet snow. That is in comparison of yesterdays weather where the wind was blowing the snow sideways.

Reminds me of Southerners rushing out for milk and bread before the first snowflakes fall!
