Marigolds do like hot sun but they do need some regular watering to keep them in the game. I like keeping the spots of color throughout the backyard to break up from seeing all that green. They look good also when it is hot and dry and they blend well with all the brown of dried out grass.

My great aunt had a horseshoe shaped driveway lined with an abundance of marigolds. I thought it was so bright and cheerful.
