An empty feeder causes me to go out in 9 degree F. weather and fill it again. The snow and cold makes the birds very hungry. I have heard that the feed helps to warm them.
I did get the evil eye from one of the sparrows to let me know it was time to reload the tray. I actually could have cropped out the blurry guy and just used the focused bird but the expression of the foreground bird really did tell a story.
