Loons....

 For some people the call of the loon is a weird almost sad sound. They raise two or three chicks and as you can see sometimes carry them on their backs.  The patterns of white spots are farm more detailed than this painted figure. Years ago when I lived my summers on the lake it was true Minnesota experience when you heard their calls.  The would call early mornings as well as late into the evening.
