Depression ware created because the country was completely broken down. Glass was heated sand and when you add a little color you get something that looks expensive when it really wasn't. It is a common, ordinary serving piece but its history goes back fifty plus years.

Such a lovely piece. I was given my parental grandmother's pink depression glass and I have already passed it on to our daughter. Treasures for sure...because of its history,
