Palladium.....

 George Washington had palladium  windows in his Mount Vernon house. When you visited the dining room the whole one wall is made up of a large window shaped like this. It had side wings on it to make it a wider window to fill the whole room. Andrea Palladio is the one who first created this design in his buildings many years ago.

There are a few home along that street a block over  from us that has them included in their design.  Most all of the houses all have small front porches but each house has different kinds of windows individually. This one window is the only one we see from our house to the neighboring street.  They usually light the trim of it at Christmas time but they did not this year.
