I collected on rhizome from an old cemetery and many years later I have three plantings of it. It is very hardy. For some reason a painting by Van Gogh comes to mind.

Those are absolutely beautiful...such a deep rich color. And I can understand why Van Gogh comes to mind when you look at the picture.
