A vase to hold the oil in which one would pour into the lamp. The pieces came from Israel and replicate the rustic firing of the clay pieces in a hot wood fire. I have never set it up to burn but it would fun to figure it all out and see what it would like when it burns. That wick would actually come out of the hole of the lamp while the end of the wick would soak up the oil in the base while it is burning.
