Combining the Beans......

I took this from the road as I traveled through the country north of town. The corn is being picked in some places, but there are a lot of feilds of beans yet to be harvested.

Look at the dust flying in the sky- and it looks like such a nice day. I guess the farmers have a lot of work to do yet.

I am looking forward to being taken through the seasons by your photographs in the months ahead. Harvest is well out of the way over here but still in progress in your neck of the woods.

Now this may sound odd, but I love to watch crops being harvested, I find the machinery fascinating. I really like this picture!
Have a great day.

A good shot of those huge combines at work. I've never seen one of those kind around here. Just the smaller ones.

I think Sunny and I have like minds as I too like machinery. What I need to know now is what kind of beans were being harvested?

Soybeans....I remember when my dad first started growing beans when I was a young farm boy, and I thought what in the world do they use that funny round white bean for.(don't end your sentences with a preposition) Now I know they make the tofu, oil, and even put them in livestock feed. The plant grow up a lot like green beans but when it dries out it looks like a bunch of stems, not many leaves left. The very valuable beans are hard as rocks by the time they are harvested.

My husband grew up on a ranch in western ND. He would have been jealous of that nice combine! I suppose pretty soon there will be snow in your photos!
