Rose hips in winter......

A Wild Iowa Rose hip during a frosty snowstorm.  The stems turn red in the winter like a redtwig dogwood. The rose itself spreads by it's roots underground. I have to mow it to keep it under control, not that I really have it under control. I spend my summer trimming it back from everywhere.

I love the quiet simplicity about this photo....a lone rose hip, frozen in a winter's nap. Very nice!

I like this photo, Larry, one lone berry
amongst the twigs, and the white out....

Yes, a very Zen feel to this...it would be a pretty Christmas card. This comment actually came from Teri and the cats of Furrydance before I deleted it by mistake. Teri and the cats of Furrydance has a great site, if you love cats, check it out.
