Checking in late today........

My tomatoes are doing well. I started these from seed and I am so surprised as to how fast they have grown.  I am going to mulch these and place a wire fence along the back side of them. I will tie them all up this year and see if it will cut down on the weeding and the mess. I have three rows of these because I don't believe in killing small plants.  Two people don't need 20 or more tomato plants.

Here is another view of my overwintered geranium plant. I love the deep red of the plant and am glad it survived so well.

We took Button to the Vet today to have a blood sample taken.  It will be sent in and tested to see if the old 12 year old poodle can survive a surgery.  He has a cancerous growth growing along his gum line, under his tongue.  The doctor and her husband also a vet seemed a little more upbeat about it all today.  His kidneys need to function well so he can come out of the drug they put him on to make him sleep while he his being operated on for the removal of the growth. We are hoping for the best.  He doesn't act old or sick so we think he is pretty strong to go through it.  We won't know for sure when until tomorrow if he is able to have the surgery.  They did say they would send him on to a specialist as if they felt it wasn't safe.  Our vet was so visibly shaken when she found the growth last week that we were pretty upset ourselves.  But after today's visit we are feeling better about it.
Thanks for stopping by.........

Oh, sorry to hear about your little poodle - it's so sad when pets get ill. They are so much part of the family.

You have been a busy man. Planting, caring for your flowers and a visit to the Vet. I hope they can help your little Poodle, and he has a speedy recovery. We have a toy poodle, Joey, he is 10 years old and has a small growth on his little tummy, but, the vet said to keep an eye on it and if it grows than he will remove it. My husband thinks he may ask him to remove it anyway, he says why wait for it to get bigger, why not take it off now?

I hope everything goes well for Button. It's not easy when our pets have health problems, they are really members of the family.
We planted tomatoes at the weekend but not from seed, I hope they do better than last year.
That's quite an intense red geranium, very pretty.

I am happy to hear that you are all feeling better about Button today. I wish the very best outcome. Please keep us updated as we are all concerned.
I love your geranium and oh, I bet those tomato plants smell good. We bought a few tomatos at the farmer's market today for sandwiches.
Best wishes tomorrow.

Nice tomatoes, Larry. I started mine from seed too, directly sown in the garden.

Great looking tomato seedlings..you will have to start a vegetable stand! We have six plants ..all Romas..we like them the best for their flavor..and will buy some larger tomatoes at a farmers market. I am sure that Button will be ok..think positive:)
