Beauty is in the eye........

of the beholder.  Fall is starting to kick in taking away some of the more purer forms of beauty and creating sculptural forms of slow decay. Decay can also be beautiful as we study it's form and color.   The yellow flowers that are still holding on to the dead seed head seem unaffected to what is about to happen to the rest of the bloom.

Hello Larry ! I'm back !
Fall is not my favourite season. My garden becomes durty, My flower are dying.
Yesterday the weather was very nice and I mowed the lawn. Today it is rain.
But in a few day I will fly toward a country where the weather is always very nice and hot.
Not too far from Iowa.

I agree. I was admiring the flower before I read that it was in decline. There's something about autumn after all.

This time of year in the garden is tough. I want to tidy things up but then I see the last of the butterflies still enjoying some of the dried up blooms so I do nothing! Our hosta especially looks rough!

Life and death in the garden...so are those yellow flowers not part of the white flower? How interesting!

Yes the yellow flowers are a part of the center of the zinnia. They are hanging in there before they die.
