I cleaned up an old pair of salt and pepper shakers. I didn't dry them and as you can see there must have been some pepper still in the one.
My mom would collect these one set per year when we took our summer trip. I know they are old and I have saved a few of her stranger sets for memories. I did toss some too. There were just too many of them.
I did get the pepper wiped off for this final shoot. Yes, wasting my time taking pictures of ceramic kitsch. The tiles are from a sample set of stone a student once gave me.

I remember when you had to have a salt and pepper collection or you were just different. These are so cute. Wonder what they were talking about. When they were going to get a bath and get rid of that pepper?
I love the old s & p set. I always enjoy looking at the sets at the antique stores. My friend has a pair that belonged to her grandma that she displays in her kitchen. I hope you'll share a few of your Mom's other sets some day. Wishing you a good day.
They're cute. It's good to hang on to some keepsakes.
The male had it's original pepper still inside when I washed them. I just let them drip dry and I apparently didn't rinse them off very well. The black specks of pepper would have come off if I would have towel dried them.

And to think I used to shoot pheasants. Not any more! :)
Beautiful pair, Larry !
