Seeing Red.........and Brown
There is no snow on the ground but the birds are already hitting the feeders. I was concerned about not seeing the female cardinal a few days ago but she spent most of the day Friday hanging around the feeder. I assume the things that the birds normally eat in the summer have shut down now with all the cold air.

What a handsome fella!
Thank you for showing the cardinal. You made my day. We discovered something interesting about our birds... they no longer like the seed we bought for them. It was pricey stuff, as well. The company who bag the seed is well known but they have included one ingredient the birds just don't like. Consequently we stopped buying it and moved to giving them sunflower seed. Goodness gracious, they can't get enough of them and it has brought different birds into the garden. Sorry for the long response, I get carried away sometimes.
Beautiful frame on the cardinal! Glad you placed the feeders while they lack feeding on ground
