The silver maple is old with lots of large branches dying here and there. This is my Halloween branch that is breaking off parts at a time. The winter will be a time for ice and snow to bring more parts of it down to the ground.

Nice perspective with dying branches and connecting with Halloween!
It's sad to see a tree die even if it does take several years.
Definitely has a Halloween look about it. Hope we don't have any more trees to uproot from all this rain. We did lose one tree in last year's ice.
