Severe Storm......at Two of Our Homes.

I am glad that I chose to pick most of my glads right before the storm Monday.  We had a long period of time late morning where the winds blew 60 to 80 miles an hour.  Some gusts were tagged at 100 mph.  As we watched from out basement windows bushes and small trees almost lay to their side. Our neighbor had four panels of his fence shaken loose and sent away to other parts of his yard. We lost two big sections of our front ornamental trees leaving them covering the sidewalks.  A neighbor came and cut them up with his high powered chain saw and my wife and I loaded it in the truck.

I got a note from our neighbor across the street at the old place which was not good news.  The entire town of Woodward was hit with straight winds of 69 to 90 mph. causing the trees in the whole town to be damaged, broken, or shredded from the winds. Our neighbors called and said they couldn't walk through our back yard because of all the fallen branches. A window had popped out of one of our upstairs and they were going to see if they could get it slid back it.  Our day Tuesday will be to drive up and assess the damage and get started on things. We did have a storm like this in 1998 when we then had many more big trees.  That storm hit us harder than the tornado which did not directly hit us. I saw pictures of a neighbors place and I am certain we will look just like it.

Glad you survived the storm, and I hope your other home wasn't too badly damaged.
