The weather warms up and the birds that don't have partners are working on that now. The house finches have the males turning red with their head feathers. They also are just sitting in the pine tree making calls. I think they could be calling for a mate but also could be declaring territory. The male cardinals can be heard doing the same thing during our warm weather.

Showing of the Colors.....
The weather warms up and the birds that don't have partners are working on that now. The house finches have the males turning red with their head feathers. Beautiful photos. I am enjoying the birds too. Blue birds were trying to take up residence in my blue bird house and I had to take it down for the move.
