Brass bells put out a great sound even when their surface is tarnished. I have had them for years and the cords that connect them keeps wearing out causing them to scatter. Brass has a unique sound in comparison to other lighter weight metals that chimes are used in making them. I think of India when they make their sound as so many things from India are made from brass.
