The Final Crop...

The final harvest comes from me cutting off the stems and picking off all the remaining pear tomatoes.  I am not quite done but I think there are about a half dozen left that I will pick when I finish the job of taking the plant down.  The serving piece that I used to hold them is a "Mildred" want-a-be.  I collect Mildred patterned dishes and I bought this on a whim.  It is not a Mildred piece because of the formal trim that goes around the rim but the flowers that they are using on the sides are from the Mildred dishes.

A real Mildred pattern has a gold trim on it.  There are only floral decorations but no Roman bands of patterns.

I have a few tomatoes, the last ones, to prepare in a salad for lunch. The table service is very beautiful.
I didn't know pear tomatoes.

At the Foot of the Stairs

When you reach the bottom of the stairs you have to turn south. One step gets you off of the stair landing.
