The historic dolls of the past were a ceramic head with a cloth body. This one is identified as an 1800's German doll head. The blue eyes with the dark hair was it's identifying look. There also were blond ones made at the same time. The doll head is one that belonged to my wife's mother. The history of it may go back farther than her but it isn't known.
