Blinded by the light.......

The amaryllis that we bought a month before Christmas  has put out it's second shoot. The new window has blessed it with a large amount of light and it does like looking out onto the world.  I still have the protective plastic covering on the outside of the window as it won't budge with the cold temperatures. The first really warm day with the sun shinning on it and I will be out there peeling it off for a true clear view.

Wonderful !
My son gave me one about three years ago. Its color was "salmon" with 5 beautiful and big flowers. But it did never want to make more flowers after, only a few leaves.

Lovely amaryllis and great shot of it. It appears to be looking out the window....nice!
We plant at least one amaryllis every December, along with paper white bulbs....this year we were blessed to have them all bloom in time for Christmas.

Oh, I love bright red Amaryllis! They are so much fun to grow. Can be kept as a houseplant after the blooms die, and the put outside for the summer. In the fall if the bulb is put in a cool dark place for a few weeks, it will rebloom year after year! :)
