The red bellied woodpecker surprised me with his seed seeking behaviors. I know in the winter that they pick seed out of the suet but during this spring he is busy selecting the exact seed that he likes. He shoves his beak back and forth in the seed pile until he finds what he wants. He reminds me of a person with a plow pushing through material.

Seed Seeker....

Iowa wild rose is the state flower. I keep finding evidence of our hard freeze on different plants as they mature. The freeze messed up...

Oh I love this... he could be choosy all he liked if he was on our bird table. We did have one woodpecker that liked to eat the wooden table.

Interesting attitude! When there is variety, it seems no matter whom, become choosy.
