The goldfinch doesn’t really discriminate agains the house finch chick. The young one hasn’t started to change colors at this time.
There are so many more house finch chicks at the feeds as there were so many more pairs of parents that there were of the goldfinch.

Fun to see the growing chicks at the feeder.
I think it’s we differentiate the birds and like more the prettier in colors… but nature sees all are same. Lovely capture on both
