Sunday....

We attended another funeral in southern Iowa yesterday. I got a chance to see two of my nieces that I haven't seen since 2009.  It was their uncles' funeral and we attended because of the opportunity to see them. It was only an hour away.  My ex-sister in law was there and I have stayed close to her for almost sixty years. The two girls are grown with kids in college, high school and middle school. Their uncle was a man I knew from many years ago as he was from our neighborhood. I was around as a kid watching him play basketball. It was interesting to catch up on his life after all these years by reading his obit and hear friends testimonies.  Southern Iowa is made up of al lot of hills and it was cold and windy up on the top of the cemetery hill. My parents and brother are also buried in that Murray Cemetery plus grandparents, uncles and aunts.  The whole area has now become Amish territory as they have bought up a lot of the farms. That was our second funeral at that place in less than four weeks and we had one just four days ago near here.

We are not doing well with the time change already as we are so tired from the day in the south.  We will use the whole day to start to adjust.  We don't stay on any schedule when an hour is yanked and now shoved back into it.  Being spontaneous  we went to Pizza Ranch last evening.  It was a zoo and they are so busy on Saturdays.  Many people were there, screaming kids included, and some were so busy just eating as much as they could.  After being at a funeral it seems to be like comic relief for us.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Everybody stay STRONG!!!!!!!!

Sad to see when someone you know has passed away.

A Fall Day....

Its cloudy and cold. When you add the wind to the equation it makes it hard to be outside.
