Sphere's a Mystery....
The white ball is a cue ball. The photo makes it look larger than life. I bought a bunch of junky things in a box for a quarter at a farm auction in southern Iowa. I actually had many things of antique value in that trashy pile in the box. I believe that the cue ball is made from elephant tusk. I can't believe that they had the technology to make round items out of that material. The rock is a mystery. I have always wondered if it was a cannon ball as it is made so perfectly round and yet it is a rock. I guess I need to research them. I am sure that they would fire whatever that was available to use as ammunition.
