It will be 2037 before we have this kind of moon phase again. It is closest to the planet than any full moon. It is called blue moon because of the statement "once in a blue moon" which me it rarely happens. So in 15 years the moon will get this close again. When you see blue moons on the net you are seeing filtered shots turned blue as it really is not blue.
