I was out in the afternoon checking on things and I saw this flutter by my face. I went for my camera and it did cooperate with me. I had to keep going from one bed of zinnias to the other. I didn't at first think I was going to get any good shots as this butterfly eats from the flower with its wings almost in the closed position.
This is a different color one for my garden as I usually get the lighter colored swallowtail. I was sure glad I got a few shots.

Magnificent butterfly
You are lucky. A few years ago I photographed different butterflies, now I hardly see any. At the beginning of the summer I saw a small blue butterfly but I haven't seen it since.
Have a nice week-end, Larry !
