Split Rock Lighthouse.......

My wife and I played hookie for a couple of days. We were in Duluth, Minnesota for two days. We ventured up to the lighthouse north of Duluth and took photos. We use to go for two weeks and created paintings along the north shore but we needed to just get some rest and do sight seeing. We have missed the area as it has been five years since we had lasted visited the area.

Boy that is a beautiful building. Everything looks like it is new in the picture. I mean the building looks new.

Goldfinch -- you asked about. I think they require sunflower seeds and possibly you should also try to Niger Thistle Seed socks. They love that. Hang it on a tree branch stub near the house so you can see it. And the sunflower should be the chips and pieces (without the hulls). Put some of that near the Niger Thistle Sock and see what happens. Give it a week or so. The sock can get with without any trouble. Just turn it upside down as it begins to dry out and shake it a time or two.

Thanks for visiting my birds blog and for the comment you left me there.

You made it to Split Rock Lighthouse, it is so very pretty up there, but I bet you were cold! I love the North Shore, it has been a long time since we have been there. Hope you had a few relaxing days! :)

We didn't get up to there this time...
Many years ago we went all around Lake Superior on our honeymoon in 1972....the north shores of Minnesota had all those rugged rocks...looked like Maine...just gorgeous!
