Gazing abstractly.....

I haven't given up on taking interesting photos of my gazing ball in the garden. The sun was setting through the trees and when I stood behind my grill, I wouldn't be reflected in the scene. I am there head only but it is a distance so you won't detect it in the photo, I hope.

I am intrigued ... never heard of a gazing ball. I loved the colours in this picture. Is that you on the right hand side?

Thanks for adding the second picture, I too was intrigued to know what a gazing ball was. Now I know I am on the look-out for one. eBay here I come.

I have seen the gazing balls in a few other gardens and have always been intrigued by these. I think they are beautiful and if I had the chance of having my own garden, I would definitely want one of these in it!

The mirrored ones that are not decorated are the traditional globe. They have been around as a traditional decoration for years. I have seen them painted in European paintings of the 1800's. When they became popular again these past few years the companies started to embellish them with decorations but then you couldn't see that round mirrored reflection with things glue onto it. I remember them in the 50's and thought they were magical back then.
