I have taken so many photos of this sedum and it has the richest dark browns. I like the black eyed susan's seed heads also.
Remember when it looked like this back in July and August? It hasn't bloomed out yet in this photo.

Iowa wild rose is the state flower. I keep finding evidence of our hard freeze on different plants as they mature. The freeze messed up...

I like viewing both the summer and winter pictures.
The sedum even though its dead will look pretty up against the snow soon. Birds love it to perch on also.

You know Larry, several ago I sent to my american friend some kitcken towels. two showed what you can buy at the bakershop, two other some vegetables in a basket and and... oups !I do not remember. May what you can buy in a dairy shop : bottle of milk, pot of cream and so on.
When my Chéri and I went to America for the first time in 1996 we could see three of those towels in three frames hung in the kitchen.
Nice before and after shots! I love flowers.
I hope that some of my bird are appreciating my sedum..it looks bad..but I leave it for them:)
