Swallowtail Butterfly......
I was remarking to my friend Abe Lincoln that I never see swallowtails in my area in Iowa. So while I was out surmising the wind damage from last night high intense winds, this guy was fluttering about the garden. I ran into the house and grabbed the camera and he was just sucking away at the nectar and ignored me. What a great thing to see and to photograph.

Butterflies are a favorite of mine but I seldom can get a good photo. This is excellent.
That is one lovely swallowtail, on a beautiful flower. It's always exciting to capture one of these 'flying flowers'.
