Saturday's splashes of color.........
I have two volunteer maples that I didn't get trimmed away from my mock orange bush. They are the only thing in the yard this year that have great yellow colored leaves.
The mums that I planted late spring have really proven themselves as winners both in blooms and in color.

Iowa wild rose is the state flower. I keep finding evidence of our hard freeze on different plants as they mature. The freeze messed up...

The mums are pretty, I miss the summer colour in the garden. It always looks so dull and boring out there in the winter.

Those Mums are very pretty! Did you pinch them in June..or did you just let them go? They say if you pinch you get more blooms and if you don't you get bigger blooms.:)
