The amaryllis is putting out a lot of color. It was a surprise to see these full red blooms when the box show blooms white with pink markings. We would have been glad to get either color.

Iowa wild rose is the state flower. I keep finding evidence of our hard freeze on different plants as they mature. The freeze messed up...

Oooh nice. I didn't have an amaryllis this year. I think the neighbour who normally buys me one for Christmas was put off because last year there were NO flowers on my present.
These are the brightest amaryllis blossoms I've ever seen. They are simply gorgeous.
