Amarylis

It finally bloomed. Two years later and it put out three buds and the two are now opened.  I ended up taking this photo in natural light from the window. It was dusk and low light but the red picks up better in low light. We can look out today through the window and see thunderstorms taking place with a lot of rain.  It will change to snow by noon today and they are still saying it will be a blizzard.

Absolutely gorgeous blooms. So sorry about the weather conditions. John saw on CNN about a fertilizer fire about 2 hours north of you today. Hope you two are safe and sound.

Really beautiful! You have such patience with growing things.

The Capitol.....

A shot through a large window creates an unusual yet usual effect. The Iowa State Capital has new gold leaf on its dome.
