Rain Makes the Corn Grow.......

Off to the east of our house is the plot of corn.  Beyond that is another plot of corn. It is corn and not soybeans as I had imagined last year.  The corn on the hill looks taller than this field here in the foreground.  Knee high by the fourth of July is an old saying that means the progress should be that tall by then if the corn will make it to harvest.  This corn will be chest high by the fourth of July.  Our sweetcorn crops in this area are way behind schedule as the soil was slow to warm up this spring. The sweetcorn should be ready this season about a week or two after the fourth of  July.

Pretty shot, Larry. We notice how well the corn is growing around here, also.

Green shot !
I agree with you, Larry. The corn field near my backyard is very green too and the corn is growing up very well because all the rain we g got and get.

I love to see healthy crops- some farmers around here got a late start with all the rain, but things are greening up nicely.
