Ruby Throated Hummer.......

It is a rainy soggy day and the humming birds seem to be fighting over the feeder. I guess it is out of the rain a little and it is a dark day.  The impression of the bird is all I can get as I struggle to get a focus.  The camera wants to focus on the feeder.  The camera wants a flash turned on because it is darker inside than outside because it is a dull day.  I turned on the dinning room light a little to shut the flash warning down and I wait for some one hummer to land.  I ended up with two different ones this morning.

The female seems to be the larger bird and it is different looking than the one I shared a couple of days ago. I am thinking if they would eat at the feeder on a clear sunshiny day that I would probably get a better focus.

I know when the hummers are coming as the dart in and out as if they are casing the joint first. They are so fast that they look like a large insect and they are just a blur.  I have learned that in most cases that I have time to get the camera ready before they actually land on the feeder.

I never expected to get the ruby throated shot as the red turns to a black in some light angles.  It seems to be reflecting perfectly in the above shot.

Good Saturday Morning, Such pretty little hummers. I just love that I can see the ruby throat. Isn't that amazing! It is cloudy here today and we are able to comfortably keep the windows open. I (and the cats) have been watching one yellow and one black butterfly among our flowers.

I am envious that we don't get the hummers.

Not bad photos on the rapid flappers and despite the dusk around u, you managed well! The ruby throated outstands in its vibrant neck belt

Crowded.....

The tulip was up first but the peony is now spreading out and shoving the tulip around a bit.
