Workmen were at the house and I had to find something to do while they were there. Cleaning up the old spice chest seemed to work, to pass my time. Barney liked the workmen but he chose to hover over by the chair next to me. They were making noises he wasn't sure that he liked. I snapped the photo to show the process of dusting and cleaning and Barney was in the background. It was an unplanned shot and some of you are probably agreeing. Barney had a loose cloth leash on him. He wasn't being held there but the end of it was laying over the back of the chair. He could have stood up and taken off to visit the guys working without any restriction.

Beautiful old spice chest. I'm wondering if you can still smell any of the scents left by the spices that it held?
I'm also wondering what type of seeds you use in your sock feeder for the Finches?

That is a good solid spice chest. I always wanted one but never found one that fit into kitchen space.
I would love a spice chest like this.
We once lived in an old house where the spice cabinet was inset into the kitchen wall. The smells from spice thru the years was very pleasant!
